For a significant period, centralized exchanges and other Centralized Finance (CeFi) platforms have dominated this particular sector of the cryptocurrency landscape. However, history has shown us that centralization in the crypto space, whether due to fraud, hacks, or negligence, is not ideal.
Transitioning the next billion individuals from fiat to crypto shouldn’t hinge on centralized platforms. Similarly, crypto enthusiasts should not be compelled to depend on CeFi to convert their crypto to fiat, as this would contradict the fundamental principles of the crypto industry. Even the Bitcoin white paper emphasizes a peer-to-peer electronic cash system, advocating for complete on-chain functionality.
We’ve successfully devised a fully on-chain P2P exchange that upholds the original tenets of crypto — decentralization, trustlessness, and automation. This is achieved by leveraging global stablecoins such as USD (USDC, PYUSD) and Non-USD (GBPT, TRYB, EURC, etc.), along with on/off ramps and the WAVY P2P Smart contract to address common global payment challenges.
