Introducing the LINK USDC Virtual Card

We just launched our Crypto Virtual Card powered by Stellar’s USDC for online purchases across 100+ online merchant stores with up to $10k in monthly limits. Just Before we go into more detail, what is Stellar, and what is USDC?

Stellar is a layer-1 open-source decentralized protocol that provides a framework for developers to create products, issue assets, and connect to the existing financial infrastructures to foster trade amongst digital representations of various forms of money

USDC is a digital stablecoin pegged to the United States dollar. It is pegged 1:1 and redeemable 1 to 1 with the US Dollar. So for every USD coin — you see online, there is a Physical representation of the same value.

Why USDC? you may ask. Recent studies have proven that USDC is one of the most trusted and reputable digital dollars, fully backed with high-quality reserves.

How does it Work?

Virtual cards work exactly as the usual plastic cards, the only difference is that it exists in digital form — on apps/wallet online in this case; LINK.

After Signing up at: https://www.linkio.africa, you would need to create and load your virtual Card with either USD Coin (USDC) or Stellar Lumens (XLM). Once your card is loaded, you’re ready to hit the spending spree — whether online or in-store (Coming soon!)

It’s a prepaid card and can be used to purchase goods and services on all websites and applications that accept Master cards or Visa dollar cards.
